Nestled in southern
Appalachian mountains, we call it "Turning and Burning". Pottery is created as an artform and a link to our past.
My work can best be described as an evolution of progressing time expanding the imagination of creativity. Over a 28 year
span my hands have been in and out of clay moving me patiently to this period in life where possibilities are not only endless,
but finally attainable.
While having created various vessels over
the past year, I have found a passion for creating face pottery. These pots are sure to bring a smile to your own
face! More pictures will be added in time as I insure a successful drying process for these thrown and hand scupltured
pieces. No two are identical! Each is as unique as the faces you pass each day on your life's journey.
My whimsical face jugs represent
an adventure connecting family history to the odyssey of stretched imagination. Drenched in inspiration from the peaceful
surroundings and pristine landscape my work represents tradition, creativity from flames and infinite possibilities that leap
beyond the everyday into fantasies that take one’s emotions over the rainbow. Perhaps my work can best be summed up
by the possibilities of looking at pottery through different eyes and asking the question, “Why not?”
